Cool Choir is an event I created just for fun.
It’s a choir that recreates the moment you have with your friends in the loungeroom when you’re belting out a song.
There’s no instructor, no sheet music, no end-of-season performance. Instead, you’re handed a booklet with the lyrics to songs by David Bowie, Womack & Womack, Hall & Oates and more. Each song plays twice - once to become familiar with it and once to really let loose.
Foot-stomping, dressups and shimmies are all encouraged.
It’s for people who want the benefits of singing in a group (known to relieve stress and alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression) without the rigidity of a normal choir. But above all it’s for this: joie de vivre.
Through some savvy marketing, Cool Choir has been listed as a recommended event by Time Out Melbourne and was recommended by Urban List Melbourne and Concrete Playground.
