Hello I’m Kate, a freelance copywriter based in Melbourne. When I was young I was lucky enough to have weird parents. My mum was an art teacher and my dad spent a lot of time in his shed inventing things. I was always encouraged to follow what I loved, and I loved writing so that’s what I did.
I studied English Lit and Science at Uni, a thousand years ago, then moved to London to pursue writing. I worked for Time Out, We Are Social, ITV2 Creative and a handful of TV production studios before landing a job in TV development.
In Australia, I have worked for Clemenger BBDO, CHEP and Think HQ a positive change agency. I was drawn to advertising because I loved ideas that could change culture and do good for the world. That’s what I love to work on.
There are people in advertising who love advertising and all props to them, it’s the industry I’ve chosen too. But I’m not one of them, I’m here because I absolutely love my craft and would be doing it anyway in any age. I think humans tell stories for survival, and we will never stop needing them.
So yeah, I’m passionate about what I do!
